David Kaplan is the creator behind these very personalized handcrafted pens. What started out as a hobby has quickly become a successful venture. Dave works from home, allowing him the freedom to make his own hours and get the family involved. This personal process is what makes Dimas and David unique. Customers are able to choose the color, the type and the weight of their pen. Pen types include ballpoint, roller ball and fountain. They are made from acrylic blocks that are drilled, cut, glued, shaped on a lathe and polished. David’s knowledge of pens and love of writing have been the inspiration for Dimas. His pens are priced between $90 and $150. They are all tailored to each customer’s preferences, come complete with a certificate of authenticity and are uniquely packaged in a black velvet, drawstring bag and set on a miniature wooden easel. Dimas has been featured in Long Island Business Weekly, Modern Jeweler magazine and Newsday and will surely continue to make headlines as its success continues.
