Shatze Speed Meal Chicago Hot Dog

Posted on June 1st, 2007 | by admin |

After missing Chicago Dogs this is my first attempt to recreate them at home.

Anyone remember? Manny’s Phase 4 special 2 dogs, fries and a coke for 99 cents one block east of Sacramento on Irving long gone.

Why is it you can’t get good hot dogs, beef sandwiches and pizza outside of Chicago? Or more important a 16 inch softball league.

Rosen’s Buns - Costo sells them in bulk or try the web they need to have poppy seeds - steam the bun
Yellow Mustard - any regular will do
Bright Green Relish - harder to find look for Vienna Chicago Style sold in groceries in Chicago or Rolf’s
Fresh Chopped White Onions -didn’t pu them on in the is video - so close your eyes and pretend you saw me put them on. If this gets referenced on IMDB.com it’ll go into the goofs and trivia section.
Tomato Wedges
Pickle Slices - Claussen are good
Sport Peppers
Celery Salt - goes on the tomatos and pickles

Hot Dog - this is the hardest thing to get. Vienna dogs sold in the store are different than the ones from the hot dog shops. I’ve been using skin on dogs. I found that the ones that are labelled Chicago dog are not even close, I haven’t figured out why they call them that. Also steam cook the dog.

I didn’t add on a music track. So go to www.dahl.com and listen to the guy who reinvented talk radio in the 70’s.
