Schizophrenia - Extreme States of Mind - Part 2
Posted on April 29th, 2007 | by admin |
Dr. John Breeding, Ph.D. Psychologist discusses symptoms of severe mental states such as catatonia and hallucination. This is psychological view of schizophrenia.
Are extreme states of mind like schizophrenia biological mental illnesses or psychological disorders?
What is the best hope for recovery for someone suffering from such an extreme state of mind? Can these people be treated with psychology or do such states require psychiatry and medication?
Often these states are drugged with antipsychotic medications such as Risperdal, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Geodon, Haldol, Thorazine, Stelazine and Clozaril. All of these drugs are used to control symptoms only. They are not cure for mental disorders. They all have an unknown mechanism of action. Some have side effects and adverse events that can cause permanent neurological damage, movement disorders, diabetes, weight gain, impaired cognitive functioning.

I honestly think …
I honestly think the only difference between hallucination and imagination is if the person can tell difference between reality and imagination.
Most people diagnosed with schizophrenics don’t actually see wild visual hallucinations.
They may hear voices in their head for instance. Well we all hear voices in our head don’t we? The difference is, do you know that voices are imaginary or do you get confused and think they are really someone else talking to you?

Anatomically we …
Anatomically we have 43 pairs of voices relaying information into our sensory centers constantly. Now, I’d say almost 100% of this information is ignored- simple things such as visceral and somatic temp. to more complex things like depth and distance of our next step, visceral C02 levels or what may happen tomorrow if it rains. I know this is just grazing the surface, but could it be that schizophrenics have given “personalities” to their afferent senses due to the fear of exposing themselves to

I would be …
I would be interested to hear what he thinks about Thomas Szasz.
I don’t feel the schizophrenic’s reality to be any less ‘real’ than that of our own. All we (people) do is generalize what reality should be by going with the concensus.
I would also recommend people to watch a video by Terence McKenna ” Terence McKenna - Schizophrenic or Shamanic?”.

I find it devilish …
I find it devilish that often the one who caused the abuse can purchase from an “expert” an excuse for the results of their evil.
Parent abuses child. Child breaks down. Parent buys a label to distract from what they themselves have done to the child. This happens frequently and is sickening to think about.

The experience of …
The experience of birth or rebirth happens during a psychotic episode, it’s evident in shamanism, the identity of ’self’ falls away with the personal paradigm, it’s not an illness, it’s natural and ultimately inevitable.

Please go to Yahoo …
Please go to Yahoo and type in the phrase “Horrible Truth About Psychiatric Drugs” into their search to find a report that reveals the truth about theee drugs that no psychiatrist will tell you. Also do the search with the phrase “Documented Proof Psychiatric Drugs Shorten Lifespan”. Be sure to include the quotes to narrow the search so you find the intended research paper on these drugs/ The drugs promote suicide and violence not prevent, cause impotence, no libido and make you fat disphoric.
