    ronniedonnie- If …
ronniedonnie- If you’re getting a red neck you are probably over-shaving that area (too much pressure or two many repeat strokes). See my video called “Advanced Shaving Techniques” for some help.

    The best soaps have …
The best soaps have glycerine. Or try the body shop shaving stuff in the round tub. They work up a good lather and are not animal tested. The german made Merkur double edge razors are highly regarded. Wish I had the patients and balls to give a cut-throat a go. Maybe one day. Anyone out there got any advice on them?

    safety razor with …
safety razor with merker blades all the way I like them better than feather from japan. You changed my life as far as shaving than you so much. If you are scared to use a saftey razor. just get a great brush and glycerine soap and watch how much better your shave is and how much longer those blades last.

    seshun1- Soaps: …
seshun1- Soaps: check grocery stores or drug stores (Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, etc.) for Surrey or Van Der Hagen shave soap. Brush: the same places likely have cheap boar (’natural bristle’) brushes, enough to get you started. Good razors, brushes and soaps/creams will probably only be found at higher-end stores like Nordstroms, Crabtree & Evelyn, and specialty stores (and the internet).

I just wanted to say that all of your videos are great! I’ve seen many other videos about shaving on YouTube, but most of them are just a guy who’s just shaving and nothing more. You took the whole concept of wet shaving from the beginning to the very end, and explained everything step by step so good. I’ve watched all of your videos and I discovered a whole new world of wet shaving! Thank you for that! Keep up the good work!

woo2fly18- the short answer is because it dries out the skin too much (not to mention stinging like crazy). But really, small amounts of alcohol, like in Witch Hazel, should be OK unless you have really dry skin to start with.

I have to say that not all Target and Walmart stores have a wide variety of products. Target and Walmart in my area have very limited selection. Why no alcohol in aftershave? Yeah it burns at first, but then it numbs youe skin so you don’t have as much discomfort.
