Windows Vista: First of a Kind Features
Posted on January 7th, 2006 | by admin |
Windows Vista sounds a lot like the current release of Mac OS X. You decide.
First of a kind features? I sure wish Apple had gotten there first!

The only Mac stuff …
The only Mac stuff I use/own is a 20 year old mac, itunes and an iPod vid, thats all i’m ever gonna use unless, what I think Macs are for, is multimedia. Also the Mac advertisements saying that Mac is totally safe, when it is not, sucking in all the ignorant folk.

Yes, I am aware of …
Yes, I am aware of the Unix defense, but as you should know there are a lot of hackers working on how to get through with some attempts that have went quite well compared to how hard it is to get through. If that does happen and the information spreads, Mac could be showered with many angry people using other OS’s, such as people that purely hate Macs.

The advertisements …
The advertisements aren’t fake, Mac’s don’t get virus’ and that’s a fact. They never said anything about the Trojans or one successful worm.

one day, something …
one day, something will be made to cause harm, as I said in a previous post that it will eventually be broken into. Vista is pretty safe now. Mac will end up killing itself, attracting the gaze of hackers due to its growing amount of consumers. Remember, its not impossible.

17 years. For 17 …
17 years. For 17 years Unix-nerds (for more intelligent than Windows hackers) have been trying to hack the Unix base. And guess what? Many virus’ were made, none were able to break the barrier. So I seriously doubt that basic Windows hackers will succeed.

not exactly more …
not exactly more intelligent, you can just be a windows hacker to do what you want to do. I never said windows hackers were going to do it. Again, nothing is impossible

Listen, no matter …
Listen, no matter what people say, no matter for how long you’ve been using it, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PERFECTLY SAFE COMPUTER. I don’t want to hear about the math, the programs and the security features, nothing stays the same and that’s an eternal law.

Whenever there is a …
Whenever there is a Mac vs. Windows debate you know it is started by the sulking Mac guys. Whaaa…
Did Mac do some things first? Yep. And Microsoft was flexible enough to take a good idea and use it. That is why they will not be beaten like DEC or Data General or IBM was.

They can get …
They can get viruses, it is just no one writes viruses for them as they could attack a much wider base if they write it against windows. If Mac OS was the number one selling operating system, then you could be assured that there would be more viruses for that than for Windows.

No they cannot. …
No they cannot. Stop being ignorant and open your eyes. Virus’ have been written, like I said. And guess what? None of them can break the Unix barriers.

Yes they can. You …
Yes they can. You are the ignorant one who cannot admit when you are wrong. Any operating system or computer can become infected, even if difficult it is still possible. But most people don’t want to waste their time on attacking Macs.

You’ve been using …
You’ve been using Windows too long and have no idea what security is. Go look up what a Unix-base means and then get back to me noob.

I don’t think Microsoft ever claimed these were “First of a Kind Features”.

DMXell: your an …
DMXell: your an immature “noob”. I know this is an old topic, but i just had to bring this up. When macs get viruses, it’s from poorly coded operating systems. PC on the other hand, gets viruses from malware programs or 3rd party apps, which microsoft could easily block but it would sacrifice flexibility which is exactly what Mac did.
By DMXell on Dec 26, 2007 | Reply
You’re right, …
You’re right, Microsoft can easily block all the malware and crap They just need to adapt Unix. There’s no other way than that.

I am sorry I cannot …
I am sorry I cannot explain more clearly. Imagine turning off your computer and saying that it can’t get viruses or crash – because it’s just a screen right?

Have any of you …
Have any of you EVER programmed stuff on windows AND unix based systems? Unix based systems are FAR more secure than Windows (even Vista, that adds some easily-passable anti-malware stuff).

Then you picked an awful configuration. I’ve done the same, and the Dell (and especially HP) comes out way cheaper, with the same specs.

Yeah, OS-common …
Yeah, OS-common features like search are going to look the same – it’s a search field and a search list for christs sake.
- What about how Explorer is way more powerful than Finder?
- What about customizing the search indexing?
- What about live previews on ALL apps, not just the ones you minimized?
- What about how my mapped network drives show up EVERY time on boot?
- How about faster boot time? (after a while, vista optimizes itself)
- What about the most game and software support?
